Creating The Future You takes a student-centric approach to fostering success through a concise, highly personalized, format, recognizing that student beginning their college studies at any given institution come to that institution from a variety of geographic locations and socioeconomic backgrounds, varied perspectives on social issues, and differing levels of academic ability, each with their own set of hopes and dreams for the future.

The topics selected and the manner in which they are examined continually take students from their current or prospective role as students to the options they will have upon graduation and entry into the job market:

  • Identifying their passions
  • Planning for success
  • Taking care of themselves
  • Building and maintaining relationships
  • Understanding the power of Emotional Intelligence
  • Learning their way
  • Engaging with digital technology
  • Taking advantage of available opportunities
  • Embracing diversity
  • Finding their happiness

Engaging students in learning and conversation about these issues greatly increases their opportunities for success. This program provides a format for students to gain information on each topic, assess their own levels of performance, and engage in meaningful conversation with each other, with their professors and other members of their campus community, and with other important figures in their lives.
