Riassunto

Letters of the Reverend Samuel Rutherford is a collection of personal letters written by Samuel Rutherford, a Scottish Presbyterian theologian and pastor who served as Principal and Professor of Divinity at the University of St. Andrews from 1639 to 1661. The letters were compiled and published in 1881, and offer a glimpse into Rutherford's life and the religious and political climate of Scotland during the mid-17th century. The letters cover a wide range of topics, including theology, church governance, personal relationships, and political events such as the English Civil War and the execution of Charles I. Rutherford's letters are known for their eloquence and passion, and have been praised for their literary and historical value.
