For while they saw that God had sent John for this purpose, and that all the Jews "held John to be a prophet" (Matt. xxi. 26), and confessed that he came " in the way of righteousness " (Matt. xxi. 32), his testimony to Jesus was beyond question, and went far to establish the fact, that He was the!
