Soil nailing is a robust and economic in-situ soil reinforcement technique used for slopes, retaining walls and excavations, involving the installation of closely spaced, relatively slender tension-carrying structural elements into the ground to stabilize soil mass.
It has been widely and successfully used since the 1970s in a variety of ground conditions, and developed through labarory tests, numerical modeling, physical modeling, field tests and site trials, and construction practice.
This book covers design, construction, quality control, monitoring and maintenance, along with case studies of projects, for practicing engineers and graduate students.
