It covers the latest developments in modelling techniques and approaches and also the concepts of water quality modelling as required and seen from the viewpoints of regulatory agencies such as the NRA, consulting engineers and specialist modelling laboratories such as HR Wallingford and WRc. As well as an up-to-date review, it provides an understanding of the problems relating to water quality modelling, and the scope and requirements for using water quality models in the water industry. Roger Falconer is Professor of Water Engineering at the University of Bradford, UK and Leader of the Computational Hydraulics and Environmental Modelling Research Group. A Fellow of IWEM and ICE, in 1992 he received the Ippen Award of the International Association for Hydraulic Research, and recently delivered the ICE Vernon Harcourt Lecture on Water Quality Modelling. Previously he was Lecturer in Civil Engineering at the University of Birmingham, UK and has published over 60 papers and articles on Computational Hydraulics and Water Quality Modelling.
