Not illustrated.1896 Excerpt: ... rate: many of the tenant farmers have the right of letting the game-shooting provided for in their deed of lease, and the usual conditions they make are, that the lessee of the shooting; shall reside in the farm-house during the time he is shooting, getting attendance free, but of course having his housekeeping requisites such as poultry, milk, eggs, &c., from the farm. Besides the shooting there is, in September, some pretty fly-fishing in the Teign and the Bovey. Tickets for these rivers can be obtained at Moreton Hampstead and Bovey Tracey, and the many places of interest on Dartmoor and its envirous, are great attractions to pedestrians or equestrians who perhaps may not care much about sport. One thing is certain, no sportsman nor tourist will regret taking a fortnight's holiday in September in this part of what is sometimes called the most beautiful county in England. A FRIENDLY FOG.
