In the 1980s, Rifkin was a senior editor at Computerworld, IDG’s leading publication, where he got a firsthand introduction to Patrick McGovern’s remarkable leadership capabilities. Rifkin has consulted with a variety of companies, such as Boston Consulting Group, Korn Ferry International, Mercer Consulting, WPP, HCL Technologies, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.
