The volume, based on research at the National Defense Intelligence College, intends to inform a broad audience of intelligence professionals, policymakers, and the general public about intelligence interrogation techniques and challenges from WWII, Vietnam, and Iraq. The work reviews interrogation history from a military perspective. By adding context going back to World War II, the Vietnam conflict, and the war in Iraq, this volume contributes to the public dialogue on how U.S. military and civilian agencies can best obtain information from prisoners of war and other categories of legal and illegal combatants without compromising the principles upon which the nation was founded. (Originally published by the U.S. Government's National Defense Intelligence College in color.) James A. Stone is a Special Agent with the USAF Office of Special Investigations; David P. Shoemaker is a Special Agent with AFOSI; Nicholas R. Dotti is a U.S. Army major with Special Operations Command.
