Born in a remote logging camp in the Adin Mountains of northern California, with the backdrop of Modoc's bloody history, Bob grew up hunting, fishing, and roaming the rugged Modoc wilderness. Bob's "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" philosophy races him through life at an exhausting pace, and he is at his best when driving his Jaguar at top speed across a Southwestern desert, racing a stagecoach down a dusty street in Colorado, or fighting a raging storm in his sailboat off the coast of New England. Bob and his beautiful wife Susan are both retired and living in rural New England after Bob's three terms in the New Hampshire House of Representatives, and Susan's sixteen years of teaching foreign languages. As soulmates, they write books and create gourmet meals together, still holding tight to their traditional Friday night margarita parties they started so long ago on their sailboat. And yes, Bob still believes it is ok to run with scissors, while Susan struggles to keep him from falling.
