Excerpt from An Approach to Business Problems
So with many business proverbs and maxims. One frequently hears, for example, that Goods well bought are half sold. Yet this is misleading unless good buy ing comprehends a knowledge of all the complex con ditions which govern the market. Cheapness alone is not a final test of good buying, for the loss from over stocking in order to secure price concessions may more than counterbalance a price advantage. Applying the proverb in a mere mechanical way, therefore, might bring loss, if not disaster.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book examines the business world's shift from emphasizing production to distribution. The author, a university lecturer on business policy, was prompted to write this book due to the lack of a foundational system of business practice for students to reference. The work classifies business activities into three divisions: production, distribution, and administration. The book then demonstrates the application of a systematic approach to problems in the first group, then extends the method to the last two. This text's value lies in its identification of useless activities and its exploration of potential new ones, with the intent of increasing profits and supporting a more significant degree of personal and social freedom.
