This investigation is part of a larger body of work on the surfaces of the orders 6, 8, 9, 10, and 12. The author presents these surfaces in connection with each other and with the current theory. Included in the book are the following: the parabolic ring, or envelope of a sphere of constant radius having its centre on a parabola; the elliptic ring, or envelope of a sphere of constant radius having its centre on an ellipse; the centro-surface of a paraboloid; the parallel surface of a paraboloid; the envelope of planes through the points of an ellipsoid at right angles to the radius vectors from the centre; and the centro-surface of an ellipsoid, and the parallel surface of an ellipsoid.
