Sinossi

Excerpt from Calculation of Charge Density Distribution of Multilayers From Transit Time Data

In this paper we shall assume that the portions AB and GB of Fig. 1 are known from soundings from below and above, and we shall concern ourselves with the calcu lation of the distribution BG from the time of travel from xl to x2 at frequencies higher than the critical frequency at 12. We shall utilize information about the transit time of a radio pulse through the ionosphere, from A to H, at frequencies above the maximum critical frequency of the ionosphere. In order to obtain such information we would, of course, have to have a variable frequency transmitter above the ionosphere, say in a rocket. Alternatively, referring to the type of distribu tion shown on Fig. 2, if the density in the region CD above 12 is assumed known.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book presents a mathematical method for calculating the distribution of electron density in a multilayer structure, such as the ionosphere, based on data on the transit time of radio pulses through the layers. The method involves solving an integral equation that relates the transit time to the electron density distribution using the Mellin transform. The author discusses the limitations and potential applications of the method and demonstrates its use in calculating the electron density distribution of a potential well. The book highlights the significance of these methods for understanding the characteristics of electron density distributions in various physical systems.
