Excerpt from Examples of the Processes of the Differential and Integral Calculus
The sources, from which the Examples have been taken are indicated by the references which will be found in the body of the-work. For although I have not thought it necessary to cite an authority for every example, I have done so in all cases in which the student would be likely to wish for more information by consulting the original authors. It has always ap. Peared to me that we sacrifice many of the advantages and more of the pleasuresof studying any science by omitting all reference to the history of its progress: I have therefore occasionally introduced historical notices of those problems, which are interesting either from the nature of the questions involved, or from their bearing on the history of the Calculus. From a fear of increasing the size of the volume too much, I have not done this to as great an extent as I wished, but these digressions short as they are may serve to relieve the dryness of a mere collection of Examples.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book offers a definitive collection of solved examples by the author, focusing on teaching the processes of Differentiation and Integration in Differential and Integral Calculus. The author has not confined themselves to elementary treatments but also introduced advanced ideas to broaden the reader's understanding, such as the method known by the Separation of the Symbols of Operation. By understanding this method, readers will observe how it reduces many of the processes of Calculus to simple and efficient processes, while opening doors to further analytical generalization. This book is a comprehensive guide for students seeking to excel in Differential and Integral Calculus.
