Excerpt from Methods in Chemical Analysis, Originated or Developed in the Kent Chemical Laboratory of Yale University
The object of this volume is to present concisely the principal results reached by workers in the Kent Chemical Laboratory of Yale University in the investigation and develop ment of methods in chemical analysis. In the account of processes, modified or original, only proved procedure and immediately related experimental data are, as a rule, given. _for further details in respect to the elaboration of processes, the discussion of difficulties, and the experimental illustration of the effects of varying the prescribed procedure, references are given to the original sources from which this summary has been compiled. To his colleagues, Professors Philip E. Browning, R. G. Van Name, and W. A. Drushel, the compiler is much indebted for valuable criticism of the proof sheets.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a compendium of techniques developed at Yale University's Kent Chemical Laboratory for the analysis of chemical substances. It provides detailed, concise procedures for measuring substances that exist as gases at room temperature, distilling and condensing volatile products, and removing volatile products without losing non-volatile material. The book also describes methods for preventing mechanical loss from solution in reactions evolving gaseous products, transferring liquids and gases under pressure, purifying precipitates by solution and reprecipitation, and using electrolytic processes. The author has adapted and improved upon existing procedures, and has developed new methods to meet specific challenges encountered in the laboratory. By presenting these methods in a clear and accessible format, the author aims to empower chemists with the tools they need to conduct accurate and efficient analyses. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
