They form a part of the Course annually attended by the Students of the College of Physicians and Surgeons, and being adapted to a general audience, were received with favor. Recourse has now been had to the press, in the hope that a perusal of the Lectures may gratify some lovers of science, by whom they could not be heard.
On several occasions slight repetitions occur. They have been introduced, rather than interrupt the train of reasoning, or distract the attention of the reader, by referring to what is elsewhere stated.
