Sinossi

Excerpt from The Practical Works of the Rev. Richard Baxter, Vol. 3 of 23: With a Life of the Author, and a Critical Examination of His Writings

This makes me call to mind that she was once so much taken with a sermon which I preached at the funeral of a holy aged womanf and so sensibly oft recited the text itself as much affecting her For which cause we faint not but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day, &c. (2 Cor. Iv. 16, 17 that I am persuaded both the text itself, and the example opened (and well known) to her, did her much good.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book delves into the complex and deeply personal subject of death and what it means to die well as a Christian. The author, a prominent figure in 17th century England, presents a poignant and insightful commentary on the final moments of a devoted womanââ â¢s life. Through this personal anecdote, the author explores themes of grace, sin, and the enduring nature of the human spirit. The book examines the idea that death is not an end, but a transition into an eternal existence where one encounters the presence of God and enjoys a state of perpetual peace. The author contrasts this hopeful vision with the anxieties of the world, urging the reader to consider the weighty importance of preparing for death while they still have the chance. This book offers a profound reflection on lifeââ â¢s ultimate mystery, providing a framework for approaching death with faith and courage.
