Excerpt from How to Use the Aneroid Barometer: I. Comparisons in the Field, II. Experiments in the Workshop, III. Upon the Use of the Aneroid Barometer in Determination of Altitudes, IV. Recapitulation
The following paper is divided into four sections. The first records com parisons of the aneroid against the mercurial barometer in the field; the second is concerned with experimental research in the workshop the third is occupied by practical considerations arising from the facts recorded and the fourth is composed of a recapitulation of the principal points which are dwelt upon in the previous parts, and forms an index to the whole.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book investigates the behavior of aneroid barometers to help explorers, surveyors, and individuals better understand the factors that affect altimeter accuracy. Measuring altitude with an aneroid barometer can be tricky. The author spent eleven years testing and examining aneroid barometers in various conditions to ascertain the extent to which they lose accuracy due to diminished pressure. The book presents useful findings for interpreting aneroid readings and accurately determining differences in elevation. The author's research provides meaningful insights into the behavior of aneroid barometers under real-world conditions, a subject of importance for anyone relying on aneroid barometers for precise altitude measurements.
