Excerpt from The Dutch Rabbit: How to House, Feed and Breed; With Chapters on Colour, Dutch Past and Present, Type and Trimming
Having been asked by the editor offur and feather if I would write my experiences on this most beautiful variety of Rabbit, and also having received several letters fronifanciers in diflerent parts-of the country asking me to become one of the authors of the Fancy, I have at last reluctantly complied with their request. The reason of my hesitation was because I am sure there are many others more able to give advice than I am. However, that such advice is being craved for by hundreds of young fanciers is an undoubted fact, and I may say it is the knowledge of this that has spurred me on in this direction, and if I can only feel I have assisted one young fancier in the smallest degree I shall be amply repaid for all my pains.
