The paper suggests that there exists a useful distinction between Personal Support (ps) and Organizational Support This distinction is critical for designing a system for effective decision support. The emphasis is placed on Personal Support by discussing development and research issues. Finally, it is suggested that Personal Computing lacks a conceptual base for exploiting the potential of small-scale computer technology and that Personal Support can provide such a framework.
