In the Treatise on Ophthalmic Lenses an endeavor is made, by means of graphic and analytic methods, to guide the novice upon a path by which he may easily acquire a knowledge of lenticular refraction with out recourse to mathematics. The text is, therefore, confined to the description of a series of diagrams, by aid of which the principles involved are presented in their natural order of succession.
