Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book brings to light a trove of historical documents from the Archivo del General Doblado. Selected from the correspondences undertaken by Manuel Doblado, an esteemed Mexican politician, this collection spans the months surrounding a crucial period in Mexico's history, from June through November 1855. During this time, the nation experienced intense political turmoil following the Plan of Ayutla, with many seeking to unseat the newly-formed government and further their own agendas. Against this backdrop, Doblado broadly discusses the instability and power struggles of the time period with other key figures, such as prominent politician and General Ignacio Comonfort, providing a multifaceted view of the complex period. These documents not only shed light on Doblado's own political views and diplomatic efforts to preserve stability, but also reveal the tremendous pressure and challenges faced by those involved in shaping Mexico's future.
