Excerpt from Plate Estimates Involving Two Strain Parameters
The estimates obtained are of the same type as those derivedby F. John [1] for shells, but the work here differs from that in [1] in that two strain parameters are used in the estimates rather than one, separate estimates are obtained for the odd and even parts (considered as a function of x3) of each function estimated, and consideration is restricted to plates.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book provides a precise assessment of the strains and stresses in thin plates and shells. It presents estimates for these quantities derived from exact three-dimensional elasticity theory. The book is significant because it provides a theoretical framework for understanding the behavior of thin plates and shells under various loading conditions. It also provides practical methods for calculating the stresses and strains in these structures, which is essential for engineers designing and analyzing them. The book is well-written and accessible to readers with a background in solid mechanics. It is a valuable resource for researchers and engineers working in the field of structural mechanics.
