Sinossi

Excerpt from The Department of State Bulletin, Vol. 9: Numbers 210-235, July 3 December 25, 1943

A little more than six years ago, when I had the honor to present to you, Mr. President, the letters accrediting me as Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary, I stated that in international relations [it is] the moral obliga tions which, proclaimed, believed, and executed, alone can insure the happiness of mankind. You, Mr. President, the Government, and the people of the United Sta'tes of America have proved the righteousness of this precept in the most crucial times of the history of humanity. The attitude of the Government of the United States toward the smaller nations who were overridden by the material forces of the Axis powers is among the noblest to be recorded in history.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a study of the political moves that led Japan into World War II. It draws on a deep study of Japanese sources and opinion to cast light on this significant and controversial subject. The author provides a valuable, relatable, and rare glimpse into the machinations of the Japanese, and in doing so makes clear the very human reasons that led them towards the fateful decision to go to war with what, on paper, were superior western powers. This book is a crucial read for anyone who wants to understand why World War II happened and the role Japan played in the conflict. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format.
