This Book is publifhed in its prefent Form, at the Requelt of feveral in thel'e Congregations, who have exprell'ed a Defire, that fome Tunes of modern Date might be added -to thofe we have hitherto made Ufe of,-tho' many prerfer the lat ter: I have, therefore, endeavoured to give Sa tisfaétion to all; havingintroduced feleé't Tunes, Carnpofed by the molt eminent Authors, of both Sorts and intend to me them (alternately) to the Praife and 'glory of that god, who hath pré mis'd, that if we make his Service our Delight, he will makerour Wants his Care.
