Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. The Edinburgh Review was a prominent British periodical, first published in 1802. This literary and political journal rose to authority, in part, because of its early decision to maintain independence from publishers. At the time of its founding, it was common for reviews to ally with publishing houses, leading to biased criticism. Authors could pay for positive reviews while competitors faced ridicule. The Edinburgh Reviewers established themselves as a critical authority through impartiality and a concentration on intellectual pursuits. Their work fit within the era's growing liberality and influenced opinion on political, literary, and social matters, offering a new model for successful journals to follow. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item. Codice articolo 9781334976421_0
