Sinossi

Aseries of murders follows the conviction of a man for the rape and murder of alocal girl. His threats towards his attorney and the presiding judge arefollowed shortly by their macabre deaths. Each is found dead, naked but fortheir shoes, with their head wrapped in a plastic sack. The guilty man issuspected of directing these from his jail cell. However, three additionalmurders are of people not involved in his trial. Each is slain in an identicalmanner. All viable suspects are eliminated which results in confusion for theinvestigators. The possibility of organized mob participation, based on thediscovery of drugs and pornography in which the attorney was apparentlyinvolved, results in a decision for protective custody of the secretary whofound the attorney's body. She is placed in the home of the Police Chief. Hisson, the lead detective in the case, and the secretary soon develop an interestin one another. The FBI is invited into the case and their help develops to beessential in the identification of the murderer. The involvement of an arsonistproves to be a factor in solving other non-related crimes which the FBI hasbeen tracking for several years. The specific identification of a suspect comesabout in an unusual manner. No clues are forthcoming until a break identifies aman from out of state as a possible suspect.

Anative of Oklahoma he is a Navy veteran of WWII. Activated with OklahomaNational Guards's 45th Infantry Division in 1950 forservice during the Korean War he was commissioned in 1953 as an InfantryLieutenant and eventually retired as an Army Reserve Colonel. He has been aninvestigator for a major life insurance company and an Intelligence Specialistwith the federal government. He has a Bachelors degree in Journalism from Oklahoma City University and a Masters of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Heis the author of SAMS, a Western novel set in post Civil War Arizona andASSAULT ON THE HOMELAND a contemporary novel He know resides in Mesquite,Nevada.
