Remember, however, that repeated reading does build greater understandings! 6. Important: Try to find time that day to share what you've read with someone. DR. CONNIE HEBERT is a nationally acclaimed teacher of teachers. She is currently a national faculty instructor for Lesley University (Cambridge, MA) and a senior national consultant for Staff Development for Educators since 1997. She is currently a reading program author and national presenter for Macmillan/McGraw-Hill Publishers in New York City. She is a former consultant for Harcourt School Publishers and Mass General Hospital's HILL program. Dr. Hebert received her doctorate in Educational Leadership and is a trained Reading Recovery Teacher. She is a former Director of Reading in western Massachusetts, elementary classroom teacher in seven districts, Reading Recovery teacher in three districts, and adjunct faculty instructor for three colleges. Published articles and materials include Reading Today, MRA Primer, Technology in Literacy, and 50 Sight Word Phrases.
