A Lesson Learned is an urban novel based out of Las Vegas, Nevada. However, contrary to popular belief, there are real people with real lives and drama in the Las Vegas Valley. Just a few miles away from the Las Vegas strip...Mykahl (Meechie) Jameson and Brittany Williams meet at UNLV and become fast friends. From opposite sides of the spectrum, Brittany takes Meechie under her wing to show her the "good life", opposed to the project life that Meechie is used to. One night, they go to a new hot spot, Washington Avenue, after Meechie catches her boyfriend in the act....and they bump into Mackenzie Jasper. Meechie quickly shows her interest in this tall, dark and handsome specimen of a man, and Brittany quickly shows her disapproval. As the relationship between Meechie and Mack grows, the possibility of a dark secret may be revealed.

Angel Washington is a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. A Lesson Learned is her first novel. She enjoys writing poetry, short stories, singing and she is an avid football fan. A few of her poetry pieces have been published in local newspapers, as well as publications outside of Las Vegas. She has traveled abroad to participate in Spoken Word and poetry readings. Angel's parents are community activists, primarily in education and at-risk children. They have been a great influence in her life, as well as in her commitment to reaching her aspirations. Angel is the mother of one son, Christopher.
