Riassunto

""The Development of Psychoanalysis"" is a seminal work by Hungarian psychoanalyst Sandor Ferenczi that traces the evolution of psychoanalysis from its early beginnings to its contemporary form. The book is divided into three parts, each covering a different period in the history of psychoanalysis. The first part explores the early years of psychoanalysis and the contributions of its founders, including Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung. The second part delves into the controversies and debates that arose within the psychoanalytic community during the early 20th century, including the split between Freud and Ferenczi himself. The final part of the book examines the state of psychoanalysis in the mid-20th century and the challenges it faced in adapting to changing social and cultural circumstances. Throughout the book, Ferenczi offers insightful critiques and reflections on the development of psychoanalysis, drawing on his own experiences as a practitioner and theorist. This book is essential reading for anyone interested in the history of psychoanalysis and its ongoing relevance to contemporary psychology and psychotherapy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
