Excerpt from Flotation
Thus the third and most successful phase of flotation has grown out of the sec'ond, although it is more nearly the logical development of the first phase. F ilm-suspension involves the aid of air, for the floating Of pulverized minerals on the surface of water is helped by the air entrained in the ore. The attempt to invent an effective method out Of Oil-buoyancy instead of film suspension goes far to explain the delay that marked the develop ment Of this metallurgic process.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book compiles articles published in the Mining and Scientific Press between 1915 and 1920. Five of these articles were reprinted in a book on the flotation process in 1916, and seventeen more were included in a book on the same topic in 1917. Those books quickly sold out, and no similar books have been published since to meet the needs of those working with or learning about flotation. The articles cover the history of flotation, flotation principles, the use of flotation in concentrating gold and silver minerals, and both legal and testing considerations for flotation. The author hopes that this compendium will aid those seeking to improve their understanding of and work with the flotation process in the concentration of ores.
