Each of the 12 looks I have designed has grown from a love of colour, character, and artistry. Drawing inspiration from eras, stories, and life-long fascinations, they bring together a spectrum of fun that will enable you to explore your passion for makeup. They are designed to unlock your talent and equip you with the techniques and knowledge to improve your own skills, enabling you to create your own masterpieces. I truly believe everyone is capable of achieving incredible work through practise, so find joy in discovering your own original vision through learning how to produce the designs in this book. Each section will provide you with tips, techniques, and skills to complete each look. The 12 makeup designs progress in technical difficulty and the expected time they will take to complete, and each one will equip you with more knowledge to allow you to develop your artistry. I have included a comprehensive kit list at the beginning of this book that contains all you need for all of the designs, with honest tool and product recommendations for each look. It will allow you to build your collection of makeup, brushes and other tools easily and utilize it efficiently. With practise and plenty of play, you will perfect your craft by exploring each item and discover where your fascination lies.
These creations are great staples for you to learn and have in your makeup arsenal. They can be adapted and employed for a variety of settings, and will set you up to venture on your own journey and carve your own pathway of design. Keep an open mind as you delve into the book and allow yourself the freedom to experiment and play, with no judgement or pressure. Creative Makeup is a voyage, so grant yourself permission to feel your way through the peaks and troughs, and acknowledge that any time you are creating art is never a wasted moment.
