Sinossi

Contained within this volume are two vintage articles on the subject of church organs, focusing on their construction and how to play them. Profusely-illustrated and full of interesting and practical information, these texts will appeal to those with a serious interest in the inner workings of church organs, and they would make for fantastic additions to collections of related literature. The articles include: “The Organ Viewed from Within – A Practical Handbook on the Mechanism of the Organ, with a Chapter on Tuning, by John Broadhouse”, and “The Organ, by John Stainer”. Many vintage books such as this are increasingly scarce and expensive. It is with this in mind that we are republishing this volume now in an affordable, modern, high-quality edition complete with a specially-commissioned new introduction on the history of the organ.
