About the author Brian was born and raised in Hull, East Yorkshire. He married Renate in 1984 and eventually moved to the village of Wood mansey where they live with two terrapins, dozens of fish and where the wildlife in the garden threatens to eat them out of house and home. Brian has worked as a civil engineer at both Hull City Council and Beverley Borough Council and currently works as a Senior Project Manager (Civil Engineering) for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. For several years Brian was a director of a garden design firm in his spare time, but had to choose between the security (and regular pay) of engineering and the pleasure of working with plants. As well as full length novels, Brian writes short stories and has been short listed and won several competitions. His second book, Pharaoh's Treasure was short listed in the USA Best Book of the Year Awards 2008. Brian is now writing his fourth book - Spear of Destiny
