Designed to help students develop skills in evaluating research and conducting studies, the Third Edition of the popular text, The Practice of Research in Social Work, makes principles of evidence-based practice come alive through illustrations of actual social work research. It introduces students to the study of research in social work and to the contributions made to our understanding of what is effective social work practice. Additionally, the Third Edition is designed to directly and indirectly help students achieve the six core competencies identified by CSWE as essential to competency-based education, including research (2.1.6), ethical principles (2.1.2), critical thinking (2.1.3), engage diversity (2.1.4), advance human rights (2.1.5), and evaluation (2.1.10(d)).
