This book chronicles our life as a family, with an emphasis on humor and on my daughter Katie's trials and tribulations while growing up. The poems also recount a few Guiffre and Tartaglia stories that have been passed down from generation to generation. They were inspired by our large Italian family which includes hundreds of cousins, aunts, uncles and some wonderful grandparents. Whether in spirit or through actual examples, these tales are illustrated in the pages of this book. Above all else, the poems describe our attempt at parenting on the fly and Kate’s attempt to live through it. It is our family album with a little imagination and musical rhythm mixed in. about the author Tom Guiffre is a dual degree graduate from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Magazine Journalism, and in English Literature from the College of Arts and Sciences. He is currently completing a Masters in Educational Psychology and Program Evaluation from The College of Saint Rose in Albany. Tom was a sports columnist for over 10 years with New York Yankees Magazine. He works for the NY State Education Dept. (ACCES-VR) and resides in upstate New York with his lovely wife Marlene, newest child (black lab/ border collie) Pinney and occasionally Kate. LWL about the illustrator Kate Guiffre graduated from The College of Saint Rose with a BFA in Graphic Design. She has since worked in the advertising and design industry as an Art Director, Marketing Assistant, and Private Consultant.
