Riassunto

The complete text and lyrics to Hedwig and the Angry Inch, the landmark rock musical that became an international phenomenon on stage and screen.

Told through a raw, electrifying concert performance, Hedwig Schmidt-an "internationally ignored song stylist"-takes the stage to recount her journey from East Berlin to the United States.

Born Hansel, Hedwig undergoes a botched sex-change operation in order to escape to the West, only to be abandoned and left to rebuild her life through music. Backed by the hard-driving band The Angry Inch, she traces a story of love, betrayal, ambition, and self-definition as she confronts the rock star who stole her songs-and her chance at fame.

This Broadway Edition presents the updated book and lyrics from the celebrated revival starring Neil Patrick Harris, capturing the voice, humor, and emotional power that have made Hedwig and the Angry Inch one of the most influential musicals of its generation.
