Employees of four national banks in the western United States who were doing audit work involving electronic money transfers have died under suspicious circumstances. Jack McConnell, a nuts and bolts Colorado Springs lawyer who would rather be fishing than practicing law, and Veronica Stailey, a computer expert with the Federal Reserve, are called upon to investigate. What they discover is a carefully planned cyber attack on the Federal Reserve’s funds transfer system—Fedwire—and only they can stop the attack. Somewhere along the way, they fall in love.
