Have you ever read a book (or anything) written by an embryo? Well, you are about to do that very thing. The Embryo tells her story from the very beginning of her life in the womb and finishes the story while waiting on her next step yet to be taken. We all enjoy our 'comfort zones' and have no desire to be forced into 'another unfamiliar place'. But we are all placed in that position if we are to grow into the best 'embryo' we can be. That is simply called 'Life'. If we aren't growing, we are dead. Yes, we want to grow! Yes, we have that special desire to become . . . so we know we must 'step into a different environment' in order to do that. But then the 'What if's" start marching in our minds. And although you are excited about this 'new experience' another part is hesitant because of the 'what if's'. Will you listen to the 'what if's' and deny yourself the opportunity to become what God has created in you to be? Oh, yes! You were created for a special purpose that only you are able to fill. Did you know that? So, we learn and we grow and by taking 'one step at a time' we become 'us'.

Author, Barbara Rice, nee O'Dell, was born and raised on a small farm in southern Ohio near a small community named Friendship. She was an only child, growing up loving books. She attended school at Friendship Elementary from first through eighth grades, then started High School at Washington High School, named for the township in that area, graduating on May 5, 1950. Since then, the name of the school has been changed to Portsmouth West. Barbara is the mother of three children, Joy, Phyllis, and David and scads of grandchildren and great grandchildren. She volunteers at the local Pregnancy Center. She attends the Fostoria Assembly of God. The book was written for the purpose of educating people that life truly begins at conception, and to encourage our youth to complete school, and to practice abstinence as the only sure way to achieve birth control. She is a strong Right to Lifer and believes there is never a reason to abort a child.
