Isobel Lusted was born in New Zealand. She worked as a land girl during the war, trained as nurse and moved to London when she married her seafaring husband. Together they travelled widely and lived for periods in Nigeria China and Japan. Following their mutual retirement they were to spend time in South America, the U.S. and South East Asia.
