Internet pornography and lust, alcohol, prescription drugs and eating disorders. Addictions are increasing among us, both inside and outside the church. But too often the church does not speak directly to these problems and as a result many inside the church are dying a slow spiritual death, many believing that there is no hope or no possibility of relief and rest from these problems. But there is a way forward, a way out. In this brief book, Jay Haug, using principles from the gospel and the 12 Steps, outlines a message that can speak to all people, both inside and outside the church, to both the addict and the ordinary person alike, a message that offers rest and relief and points the way to freedom. Using personal examples and events from the life of Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul, Jay outlines a way for pastors and preachers to speak to their congregants and to the world around them a life-transforming message of hope.
