Lincoln is one of the oldest cities in England: Britons were living by the Brayford Pool when the Romans arrived in the first century A.D. This book is the second in a collection of articles about the history of the city, the people and the places. There are articles about the coming of the railway, the Greatest Street in England, the ancient inns of the city and much, much more.

Phil Gresham was born in Lincoln a short time after the end of World War II, he grew up in Lincoln, moving away in his twenties. He is not an historian but has a deep interest in the history of his home city, and has carried out a great deal of research. He moved back to Lincoln after spending 40 years living in other parts of England. He began his writing career by creating a blog about the city, but he quickly realised that there is a demand for a book of short articles about the city; this prompted his to write the first book in the "It's About Lincoln" series. He has now created a website: www.itsaboutlincoln.co.uk, and a Facebook group page. He can be contacted through the website home page.
