<div>Alice Gilgoff received her masters&#8217; degree from Columbia University in 1993 and has been a practicing midwife since then. She is a board member of the New York State Association of Licensed Midwives. She is also the founder and owner of the longest-running postpartum doula corporation in New York, Mother Nurture, Inc.<br> &#160;<br> Prior to becoming a licensed midwife, Alice was a labor and delivery nurse, a certified childbirth educator, a La Leche League Leader, and a doula. She was also a journalist and author who specialized in maternal and child health.<br> &#160;<br> Alice has five children, two born with doctors in hospitals, and three born with midwives at home. She lives in Ulster County, New York.<br> &#160;</div>
