CHAPTER 1

Soul, Mind, and Body Functions and How They Work in You

The Soul

Our souls have been the major focus by theological and spiritual studies of all religions. There is no religious or sacred book that doesn't talk about the soul. It is defined as the essence behind our bodily lives and physical makeup. It is the major life force, not seen, heard, or touched. It is felt only by those who are sensitive to vibrations other than the physical. It is what is eternal; it cannot die or be demolished. The soul has been there, is there, and will be there forever. That identity has been glued to us from the first years of our physical lives. Those who are very close to us — namely, our parents or primary caretakers — have the habit of finding an identity for their children who have just started exploring the world around them. This leads the child to be constantly unsure about who he or she is and why he or she is here. According to psychology literature, although
