While a student at Clarendon College in Chapelton, Charlene Elson-Gustard fell in love with poetry. She began writing then, but did not start saving her work until she enrolled at Mico Teachers' College. Writing for her has always been a pleasurable pastime during which she captures and records various human experiences and issues, mostly in rhymes.
As a teacher of English for over two decades, she enjoys working with high school kids and is always delighted to see them grow from being petrified by this genre of literature to becoming more appreciative of it.
This publication is partly due to the positive feedback and encouragement from a close circle of friends and mentors with whom she has shared her writing.
