The Author Sebastian Swan was born in the North East of England not far from Bamburgh. He served his time as a joiner later lecturing in Yorkshire, then as the salmon returns to the place of its birth, he returned to the North East when he retired, and started to write. All his life he had struggled with the written word, being dyslexic. He had cancer, which forced him to retire, while he was ill he started to read for pleasure, he couldn’t do much else for a while. He found that in reading he could be transported to another place, a “Dream World”. One day he thought he could create his own dream world and started to write, with a little help from his friends, and drew from the vast resources of history on his doorstep. Most of his books are played out in the beautiful North East of England. The places in the books can still be seen and touched, come to the North East, sit on the quiet beaches, close your eyes and be transported into the world of Sebastian Swan. David Mattches BA
