As author Ralph Masengill Jr. observes, death and taxes aren’t the only things certain in life. Change is a given too.
Understanding and managing change can help you succeed both at work and in your personal life. People who know how to deal with change are happier and less stressed out, and they make better decisions.
On the job, adjusting your own attitude about change can influence others in major ways and redirect the course of your organization. And, as Masengill explains, you need to recognize which coworkers embrace change, are neutral about change, and resist change when you are trying to make improvements at work.
Masengill doesn’t just impart the secrets of social engineering but also includes important advice about identifying your own attitudes toward change. This can help you cancel out fears and negative thoughts.
Learning to accept change can be difficult, but understanding why it’s important is simple, thanks to the humorous stories and easy-to-understand charts and graphs in Conquer Change and Win. With motivation and perseverance, you can find the courage to dream big and adopt the best mind-set for success at home and in the boardroom!
