It was rudely received at first, but gradually its beauty, its sympathy with human emotion, and, as time went on, its wide range and variety, taught us all to realise that a very great poet had taken birth amongst us. Its beauty throughout must appeal to all who have ears for the music of verse in union with intensity of feeling, and delicacy of expression.
