Springfield College Reader is intended to support a student's journey toward becoming a well-developed writer. It consists of an anthology of exemplary texts that have been carefully selected by the Springfield College writing faculty. Topics in this anthology range from the cultural meaning of popular toys to an investigation into Major League Baseball's recruiting system in the Dominican Republic. They also represent a selection of the same writing styles that you will be trying out over the course of the year including, but not limited to, narrative, analytical, and argumentative.
This reader also contains six award winning essays written by your predecessors in College Writing 1 and College Writing 2. These essays are not only great reads in their own right, they will also give you a sense of how real students interpret the kinds of assignments you will encounter in College Writing. Finally, it provides you with comprehensive guides to the MLA and APA citation systems, which are the two primary systems used here at Springfield College.
