Excerpt from A Modular Energy Balance Program Including Subroutines for Greenhouses and Other Latent Hear Devices
To conserve energy and water, new greenhouse designs and methods for heating and cooling greenhouses are needed. Computer models of greenhouses and of heating and cooling devices can be used to help assess the feasibility of the new designs. This manual presents a modular energy balance model (meb) which com bines submodels of greenhouses with submodels of many other energy-related devices. The meb model is versatile because the user can connect the submodels needed for particular heating and cooling systems at the time he or she runs the main meb program.

Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This book is a practical manual for building a personal computer-based model of your greenhouse to optimize and fine-tune its design before it is built and to test ideas for improving your greenhouse's energy efficiency while minimizing water use. It contains detailed descriptions of 22 different components that can be used to construct a model of your greenhouse, including heaters, blowers, evaporative coolers, pumps, heat exchangers, and thermostats. The manual also provides guidance on wiring them together into a complete computer simulation and on writing the software to analyze the results, all in a clear and non-technical style.
