Paperback. Condizione: New. Print on Demand. This study of the far northwest of Quebec follows the work of the author in Timiskaming County, where he found evidence of mineral deposits. Through multiple field studies, geological formations were linked to one another, building a picture of their development. Using this as the base, the text explores the potential for mining in the region. The landscape is described, with a focus on the clay belt, which hosts rivers and lakes that are ideal for exploration. The author then takes a look at the ancient volcanics of the basal complex exposed in the Tenendo, Smoky, and Abijevis Hills. These hills prove the level of relief present on the erosion surface when the Cobalt Series was deposited. Lastly, there is an examination of the Boundary Hills, an upland area left when denudation failed to remove the Cobalt Series from the basal complex.
